Machine tool 1836M.21

A specialised wheel turning machine of the 1836M.21 model has been manufactured, passed acceptance tests and is being prepared for shipment to a customer in Guinea.

The 1836M.21 machine is designed for machining new and refurbishing worn wheel set shoe profiles for electric locomotives, diesel locomotives, and motor-carriage sections. The 1836M.21 is a specialised wheel turning machine equipped with two slides, designed for turning new and repairing worn wheel set profiles for railcars, diesel locomotives, electric locomotives and motor-car sections with a track gauge of 1000 mm and a rolling circle diameter of ø 600-1250 mm.

The wheel turning machine model 1836M.21 has the following functional capabilities in accordance with its intended use

• turning along the entire profile of the wheelset bead;
• turning of individual sections of the wheelset bead profile to eliminate local defects;
• turning of the inner side surfaces of the beads.
